Welcome to the world of Aakriti Art Gallery—a virtual meeting ground for artists, art collectors, art enthusiasts, critics and connoisseurs from around the world. Aakriti Art Gallery is one of the most vibrantly active venues of art in Kolkata, India. Its exhibits range from works of artists who are groundbreaking contemporary visionaries, young upcoming talents or historical masters. Founded in 2005, the Gallery has today more than 1000 works in its collection.Its has a separate wing adjoining the primary gallery space,a permanent gallery for showcasing sculptures exclusively. Aakriti Art Gallery was founded with a very specific intention. Despite the fact that the Gallery has a sizeable collection of historical masters, it is on international modern and contemporary art that it truly stresses upon. The vision is to break all geographical boundaries, collecting and curating works from all around the world.

This vision of Aakriti Art Gallery has also given rise to GenNext series —the annual exhibition of contemporary artists from across the globe. Since its inception, Aakriti has held this exhibition every year. Young artists from Europe, Asia, North and South America have been enthusiastically converging with their works at this show which is held every year from October 1 to 15 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

This is a forum to reach out to anybody interested in art—be it painting, sculpture, print making, creative photography,video art or new media. This is a space not only for the practitioners of different forms of art, but also collectors, connoisseurs and critics. And in this space you have a wide choice—of exchanging notes, holding debates, checking out the works in Akriti's collection and even buying them from our website if you so fancy. Going beyond the limit of a physical exhibition, a geographical boundary and being in touch—that is the main aim of this forum. This forum will also notify members of upcoming events at Aakriti, while at the same time acting as a virtual exhibition arena to showcase works by members across the world.
