Talk Art

What can art offer you? Apart from material benefits I mean.
How do you feel when you create?
Is Art a way of living after all?
I've read a book about Art therapy in seniors; art is healing.

Your views?

Hi Ninon,
Thank you for your input. Yes, I absolutely agree with you in everything you say! That's the way I feel too. Art is an inner need, a spiritual need and outlet that does not appeal to everyone. But it is the greatest way to feel life.

Hi Liana, I thought that love would flood my soul,I dreamt a life of bliss; After years of tears and pent up pain:I spilt my blood on canvas ----Princefreakasso
Devastated and destroyed by the injustice of man, after belonging to an affluent and aristocratic family, some with private jets,Van Goghs,Picassos and Claude Monets.I had nowhere to turn, until one day a vision changed it all.I paint for myself from visions from a world beyond. In the last three years since returning to art afer a long hiatus,I have sold 300 works without making a hue and cry out of it.I am a world famous poet also today.A born psychic clairvoyant,I can assure you, that colour can bring magic in your life.As a poet I made this sign which I hang in my studio. GOD THE GREATEST PAINTER. Oh Lord these lines are thine, colour has it's language and it will make them shine;so the results I assure you are entirely your's not mine. The therapeutic power of colour is amazing to all those who understand the magic of colour. My cerebral creations on paper or canvas are my pain.....things,they have become the mirror of my soul, from a life of pain and darkness, today my life's more whole. The Best.....Princefreakasso
I am an artist who works in many different types of media; oil, acrylic, abstract paintings on canvas,

Dear Muller,
Your response is blatantly promotional and contributes nothing to the subject matter, you are trying to promote your artwork at the forum. This is unfortunate. A string, with 21 replies, going strong and adding value to a better understanding of art is therefore broken.
Hi Liana,
Thank you for putting up an engaging matter on the forum. I haven't read the book about Art therapy in seniors and what I say is purely my personal take. I believe we all will agree to an extent that art is still a not-so mainstream way of living with, irrespective of how much one earns through art. So, every individual who has chosen art as a way of life is attached to it, and in that case material benefits become secondary (but not non-existent). What becomes his/her primary consideration at a conscious or sub conscious level is the inner satisfaction and the believe that he/she is doing something that he/she was meant to do - something that gives joy.
A friend once told me that I am possessed when I am doing my work and that perhaps sums up the life of an artist to an extent. I would say without being biased that art is one of the several ways of life - like a sportsman, like a poet, like a author et al. The way we perceive the world around us, the way we reflect it back to the world and the way we are seen in this world - it's an IDENTITY.
Right, an identity. I feel it...it's the unique way I see things and I feel things. Artists have their own way to create emotions-not only joy. Thanks for your input!
