Logged is the drawing-show that Emami Chisel Art is organizing, which opens on the 12th of March for public viewing. Drawing is a form of visual expression which has many sub-categories, like cartooning, doodling, sketching and other informal kinds of drawing. Basically, drawing is an act of making marks on a surface to create an image, shape and form. The history of drawing in the western art world makes a distinction between drawing and painting in comparison to the Asian art tradition which generally uses brush. Frankly speaking, we notice that the distinction is blurred today.
Indeed drawing has a complex history of its own. It has travelled a long way and in the process may have lost some of its primordial qualities, but at the same time added new meanings to the medium. Emami Chisel Art is organizing a Drawing Exhibition of contemporary Indian Artists which will throw light on the changing perspective of drawing today.
All together, 40 artists from all over India are participating in this show with two works each. Some of the major artists are K.G. Subramanyan, Satish Gujral, Jogen Chowdhury, Rabin Mondal, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Partha Pratim Deb, Aditya Basak, Shekhar Roy, Shelley Jyoti, Monali Meher, Chhatrapati Dutta, among others.
The exhibition will be on till the 31st of March, except Sundays.
